Wood boards that form a diffusing layer in an office lobby

Sound shapes the threshold

Diffusive Lobby

Wood boards that form a diffusing layer in an office lobby

Owners of a commercial building in Berkeley, CA approached us to refresh a lobby. We found the existing lobby space to sound reverberant and unpleasant. Working closely with the project team and fabricator, we developed a system of wood panels to adapt to diffuse the sound and provide a warmer feel to the space.
